‘Your big opportunity may be right where you are now.’
Those of you who know me will recognise the name Napoleon Hill. He’s one of my favourite thinkers on the subject of success and wealth, and this is one of his quotes.
With Christmas around the corner, we’re travelling full speed into the season of new starts. Boxing Day leftovers digest and then thoughts start to turn to turning a new leaf, or becoming a ‘new you’.
It’s all in the search of becoming a better, more rounded individual, which is fine. But who says in order to achieve that you need to look any further than where you are right now?
In other words, your big opportunity could be staring you straight in the face.
‘The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.’ — Napoleon Hill
Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich was first published in 1937. It is still among the top 10 bestselling self-help books of all time.
And after studying and admiring his words and intelligence over so many years, it’s clear to me that Hill advocates taking action and seeking education at every turn.
‘Whatever it is that you lack in education, or knowledge, or influence, you can always obtain it through somebody who has it. Exchange of favours and exchange of knowledge is one of the greatest exchanges in the world.’
I’ve read, listened and learned from mentors such as Napoleon Hill and Dr John Demartini throughout my life and career. And it’s a combination of their wisdom and my ambition that has led me to the position I find myself in today.
And that piece of advice above is one of the reasons I’ve dedicated my life to helping others fulfil their ambitions and realise their own values. For me, there is no greater satisfaction in life.
